Wash Wizard

We all know how sweaty a long hard training session in the gym can be and we all long for that hot shower at the end of our workout.

But what with trainers, gym kit, a towel, water bottle and protein shaker to name just a few of the things rattling around in our gym bags, however big your muscles are, the thought of carrying about a wash bag on top of that leaves you feeling like you’ve packed for a two-week holiday every time you go to the gym!

And what if the showers are busy and you’ve not got time to waste?

Well now showering has got that much easier, thanks to Wash Wizard. In fact, you don’t even need a shower!

Wash Wizard is the brainchild of four 17 year olds from East Grinstead – Freddie Webb, Rosie Hooper, Siam Tongsom and Sol O’Driscoll – and couldn’t be easier to use.

The concept is simple – Wash Wizard is a sponge that’s infused with hypoallergenic and fragrance free aloe vera. All you have to do is add a splash of water – from, say, a bottle, tap, even a river if you’re outdoors – squeeze it to activate the foam and wash with it.

You don’t even have to rinse off or towel yourself dry afterwards. The natural ingredients mean you just leave yourself to air dry.

‘Originally the sponges were used to wash patients in hospitals, and my mum had a couple lying around the house from ages ago,’ says Rosie Hooper one of the Wash Wizard creators. ‘I showed them to the boys and we all agreed that they would be ideal to use anywhere that you get dirty and don’t have access to a shower.

‘Because they’re so small you can literally take them with you anywhere, in a pocket or handbag, so you always have a way of staying shower fresh without a shower.’

Although they’re not designed for everyday use in the gym, these are a great emergency option to keep on hand and would work wonders for runners, cyclists and anyone who takes part in muddy outdoor activities.

And the bonus is the sponge and the packaging they come in are 100% recyclable and a percentage of sales goes to charities for the homeless. A pack contains five sponges and costs £7.99, clear here for more info.

These are a brilliant option for those fitness fans who need to get clean quick and easily.

Until next time, stay happy and healthy….
