Sometimes, life can get a little bit hectic, what with work, gym, kids, social life and maybe a couple of hours’ sleep slipped in there somewhere!

So, who, honestly, has time these days to sit down and have a proper breakfast?

The thing is, breakfast really shouldn’t be missed.

A quick search on the internet will tell you that studies have shown people who eat breakfast consume more vitamins, minerals and fiber throughout the day.

Breakfast gives your body and brain the energy it needs to start firing on all cylinders, improving your concentration and productivity, plus it stimulates your metabolism.

And these days, it doesn’t have to be time consuming…

FUEL10K Quark with Fruit pouches* are a yummy range of yoghurt-style breakfast pouches made from pureed fruit, yoghurt and Quark, which are boosted with protein, low in fat, and contain no added refined sugar.

The range contains four flavours: Raspberry & Blueberry, Mango & Passionfruit, Strawberry & Banana and Vanilla Bean & Honey. And they all come in a 150g squeezy, re-sealable pouch (RRP £1.49).

‘We’re on a mission to make breakfast more exciting,’ says FUEL10K co-founder Barney Mauleverer. ‘Like most people, we’re so time-starved that we haven’t got time to sit down and eat breakfast. That’s why we created a delicious breakfast that does you good, keeps you going and doesn’t waste any of those precious morning minutes.

‘Our FUEL10k pouches deliver a hit of fast, easy and healthy protein that is low in fat and keeps you fuller for longer.’

I wasn’t sure what to make of these as whenever I mention Quark to people they turn their noses up, but these were nice.

They are very filling and not only work as a great breakfast-on-the-go, but a handy snack for work or pre/post the gym.

They are very thick and creamy and the flavours are really strong and natural, however they can get a little sickly after a while. I think they are best served chilled.

Nutritional breakdown per 150g pouch:

  • Raspberry & Blueberry – had a really nice, almost sour raspberry flavour. Carbs 14.6g | Protein 8.6g | Fat 1.6g
  • Mango & Passionfruit – wow, fruity, you could really taste the mango. Carbs 16.3g | Protein 9.2g | Fat 1.6g
  • Strawberry & Banana – not artificial tasting at all, tasted just like mushed up strawberries and banana! Carbs 13.2g | Protein 9.4g | Fat 1.5g
  • Vanilla Bean & Honey – nice hit of vanilla and suitable honey flavour in the background. Carbs 13.2g | Protein 10g | Fat 2.3g

I’m not sure I would rush out and buy these again, I’m too in love with my over-night oats, but if I was in a bind and needed something quick I’d consider reaching for one.

Until next time, stay happy and healthy…
