When you’re flagging, having a hard day at work or tired after a workout, it’s easy to reach for something sweet to try and give you a boost of energy.
But that’s usually when we make the wrong sort of choices and reach from something high in refined sugar to get that quick fix energy high.
Instead, why not try a Boostball?
Ok, so, I expect most of you reading this have heard of protein powder, and may even use it.
This finely milled powder comes in all sorts of flavours and is mixed, usually, with water to make a high protein drink.
Thing is, it can get messy. One cough or sneeze while measuring it out and there’s a mushroom cloud of it hanging over your kitchen. Plus, with so many of us complaining about how time-poor we are, some people can’t even face the fuss of weighing it out in the first place… and what about how long it takes to wash you’re shaker up afterwards!!
However, protein is great for fuelling your workouts, aiding muscle repair, steadying blood sugar levels and boosting your metabolism so WOW Protein have come up with a way of making it easy and fuss-free.

Breakfast gives your body and brain the energy it needs to start firing on all cylinders, improving your concentration and productivity, plus it stimulates your metabolism.
And these days, it doesn’t have to be time consuming…

I thought I’d tell you about my current fave from Pukka…
When you’re training hard, if you can trick yourself into thinking you’re getting something ‘naughty’, while in fact giving your body a boost of the good stuff, then all the better.
That’s why I love protein shakes, because I’m getting a great hit of nutrients but I can also enjoy some delicious flavours – cookies and cream, peanut butter, raspberry, strawberry – the list is endless.
But flavour, texture and nutritional content can vary massively between protein brands, and with so many to choose from, I want to hunt out the best and worst.
So, when I was sent info on the launch of Innermost*, who offer no fewer than four superfood protein blends, I thought I’d give them a try for you guys…
Now, a glass full of green gunk might not sound or look appetising, but if you want a hit of winter-blues-eradicating, immune-boosting, digestion-loving vitamins, nutrients protein, fiber and propbiotics, well you can’t really go wrong with a green juice.
So, I got my hands on some Udo’s Choice Beyond Greens, as well as their Ultimate Oil Blend, which packs a punch of essential fatty acids, to try and give my body a helping hand over the harsh winter months.
Here’s what I thought of them…
